Aplitop strengthens its software for surveying andcivil engineering with the new version of tcpMDT

Málaga, [July 6, 2026]. Aplitop announces the availability of tcpMDT 26, the new version
of its professional software for surveying, civil engineering and construction. The update
represents a new step in the evolution of a solution developed for professionals who work
with terrain models and infrastructures, and who need to produce subsequent technical
documentation within professional CAD programs such as AutoCAD®, BricsCAD®,
GstarCAD®, progeCAD® and ZWCAD®.

Since its beginnings, Aplitop has focused its activity on the development of technical
software. Its proposal is based on a common need in the sector: transforming information
captured in the field into useful data for design, calculation, control and office work.
Since its beginnings, Aplitop has focused its activity on the development of technical
software to support professionals throughout the entire project lifecycle. Its ecosystem of
solutions covers everything from the initial capture of reality to data processing,
cartographic production, design, stakeout and construction control.

This vision makes it possible to integrate into a single workflow tasks such as surveys with
GNSS receivers, calculation of total station observations, management of point clouds
from 3D scanners or drones, generation of digital terrain models, profiles, p lans, 3D
models, measurements and reports for subsequent use in the office and in the field.

In this context, tcpMDT has become one of the company’s main solutions. It is a program
that extends the capabilities of the CAD systems used by professionals by incorporating
specific tools for terrain modelling, civil engineering design, parcel management,
measurements, stakeout and interoperability with other technical formats.

The new version 26 includes, as a new feature, an artificial intelligence assistant
designed to help users resolve questions about the program, locate functions and guide
certain workflows through natural language queries. In addition, tcpMDT 26 incorporates
compatibility with MCP, allowing certain software operations to be connected with
compatible external assistants such as Anthropic’s Claude Desktop or Claude Code, or
OpenAI’s Codex. This evolution reinforces Aplitop’s commitment to new ways of
interacting with technical software, in a context where automation and AI are beginning to
gain presence in professional applications.

For surface work, it includes the automatic creation of breaklines considering maximum
distance and angle criteria, the management of multiple LAS/LAZ files and the
combination of surfaces through transition zones. These functions make it possible to
work with more complete models and better adjust the representation of the terrain
during analysis and calculation phases.

The update also reinforces important areas for complex civil projects. In parcels, it
improves geometric control through error detection and interactive editing of vertices and
sides. In GIS, it expands the options for querying, editing and labelling attributes within
the drawing and adds new exchange formats such as SketchUp, GeoPDF and OBJ. In BIM,
it incorporates compatibility with IFC 4.3, new properties and classifications. The
professional version also adds capabilities for hydrology, roads, measurements and
stakeout, including flow, drainage and watershed analysis, tools for sections, pavements
and superelevation, advanced earthworks calculations, construction monitoring,
chainage filters and specific assistants for field implementation work.

Aplitop’s track record is also supported by its participation in international projects with
high technical requirements. Its solutions have been used in works such as the cadastral
survey carried out in Andhra Pradesh, India; the construction of Line 3 of the Riyadh
Metro, in Saudi Arabia; the light rail tunnel in Ottawa, Canada; and tunnel control for the
Transolímpica expressway in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

“With tcpMDT 26, we are taking an important step in the evolution of the software,
incorporating new ways of working with terrain data, interoperability and intelligent
assistance, while maintaining the practical approach that surveying and civil engineering
professionals need in their day-to-day work,” says Francisco Navarrete Mandly, CEO of
Aplitop.

With tcpMDT 26, Aplitop continues to reinforce this line of work and innovation in the civil
sector: developing specialized tools integrated into professionals’ processes and aimed at
improving technical productivity without requiring them to change their working
software.
