May 29, 2025 — Topcon Positioning Systems has igned a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Vemcon GmbH, to collaborate on an effort to expand access of advanced excavator technology solutions.
According to a statement from Topcon, the agreement brings together “Vemcon’s expertise in 2D assistance systems that work with smart attachments, and Topcon’s advanced 3D machine control technology and global GNSS network.”
Topcon’s Executive Vice President Murray Lodge said, “Strategic cooperation with Vemcon will allow us to provide contractors with a more comprehensive excavator technology solution. By integrating our technologies, we will be able to offer customers a clear advancement path from 2D to 3D systems while maintaining their existing investment in smart attachments.”
Jan Rotard, CEO of Vemcon, said giving contractors the ability to upgrade their Vemcon 2D system with Topcon’s 3D control is “fast and cost-effective,” and it “allows contractors to scale their digital capabilities step by step, project by project, without locking themselves in.”
The Topcon statement asserted that the collaboration may enable the companies to find new opportunities for data integration, and it could “could provide contractors with enhanced insights into machine performance and project progress, further improving operational efficiency.” Also, Topcon and Vemcon are “exploring opportunities to expand availability across additional markets.”
