A key member of staff from the UTEC family of companies has been recognized with the award of a major accolade.

Douglas Brown, the Managing Director of UTEC StarNet, has been awarded a Fellowship by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) in recognition of “significant experience and standing within the construction industry.”

Fellowship of the RICS is widely regarded as a mark of distinction which denotes the highest standards of success, achievement and expertise.  Holders of the accolade are deemed to be leaders in their field who have undertaken notable projects or made a special contribution to their profession.

Commenting on the news Douglas Brown said: “I am honored to receive this prestigious award from such an eminent and well-respected organization.  I look forward to further expanding my experience as UTEC StarNet continues to grow and flourish.”

Sarah Speirs, Director RICS Scotland, commented: “RICS eminent membership is only awarded to a select few individuals each year, following a robust nomination and review process. Once achieved, individuals are entitled to refer to themselves as a chartered surveyor and to use the globally recognised designator letters FRICS.
