Corridor mapping is one of the most core functions for aerial surveyors, but it remains one of the most important. Utilities need to build up entirely new power systems, or reconfigure existing lines, to deal with increasing demands in urban areas. Communities around the world are looking to transition more of their shipping and transportation toward rail for cleaner systems, a process that requires areas to be surveyed before construction can begin. And pipelines bringing in new forms of energy, or again addressing these population shifts, require the same kind of long, horizontal areas to be surveyed.
Even though many of these workflows have existed in some form for years now, the sector is still constantly shifting. Crewed aircraft are carrying new and improved sensors, whether that’s more powerful cameras, better lidar sensors, or hybrid systems that include both and/or spectral sensors all within a single system. At the same time, software is becoming more complex to help deal with these evolving hardware systems. That means surveyors need to stay up to date on this new technology.
An upcoming webinar hosted by Geo Week News will provide exactly that. Being held from 1:00-2:00 PM Eastern Time on August 27, Aerial Accuracy: Lessons Learned in Corridor Mapping Projects will be a 60-minute panel discussion moderated by senior content manager Carla Lauter, diving into this evolving industry with experts and veterans. Registration for the webinar is free, and includes a free recording of the discussion, so be sure to register even if you can’t make it for the live discussion.
This webinar will touch on all of these important topics that are shaping the corridor mapping sector today. Industry thought leaders will share the most common barriers that they encounter in their day-to-day workflows, as well as the best solutions they’ve come across to help their work move forward smoothly. They will also discuss the technologies they are using today, and how they are best collecting the high-accuracy data their clients demand. And of course, all of this discussion will include real-world examples of how they’ve worked in the field, bringing some tangible discussion to the table.
If you’re working on corridor mapping projects even part of the time, or you’re considering adding these types of projects to your offerings, this is a conversation you will not want to miss. This panel discussion will provide the knowledge you need to avoid pitfalls, and set yourself up for success – and of course, you’ll also have your chance to ask questions of our expert panel. Don’t miss your chance to register below!
