Topcon to display mobile mapping system at SPAR

LIVERMORE, Calif. – Topcon Positioning Systems announced this week it will display its HD Mobile Mapping system with high precision laser scanner at the SPAR International conference, to be held March 20-24, in Houston.

Dave Henderson, director of sales, 3D Mobile Mapping, said in a prepared statement, “Take a demo ride and see firsthand how to quickly generate 3D point cloud LiDAR data. This data is combined with geo-referenced images to create a rich 3D dataset. Data can then be mined and exported from this dataset and sent to ArcGIS, AutoCad Civil 3D and Map 3D, MicroStation and other programs.”

Also featured in the Topcon booth will be the GLS-1500 scanner that captures 30,000 points per second at a range of 500 feet.

Topcon will also host a technical seminar at 4 p.m., Tuesday. The presentation is titled “3D Mobile Mapping –A Complete End to End Solution.”

Henderson said in the release, “This seminar will be of interest to anyone who wants to improve the speed, safety and effectiveness of their current data collection and management methods. The presentation will focus on the 3D Mobile Mapping system and software workflows to provide a complete solution for the client.”

Topcon’s booth is No. 14.
