Restoration expert reps for lidar software maker at FARO conference

Gexcel’s Rossi specialist in 3D data management

Lidar and imagery analysis software maker Gexcel Srl said its Product Sales and Technical Manager Arch. Giorgia Rossi will represent it at the FARO 3D Documentation Conference Asia Pacific in Singapore, April 25-26.

Based in Brescia, Italy, the company is a six-year-old spin off of the University of Brescia. Its flagship JRC 3D Reconstructor is widely used 3D laser scanner data processing software compatible with all terrestrial, mobile and airborne scanners from manufacturers such as Faro, Leica, MDL, Optech, Riegl, Topcon, Trimble and Z+F.

JRC also supports all major standard formats such as E57 and LAS, the company said.

Rossi has an architecture degree from Polytechnic of Milan University and a specialization in Restoration of Monuments from the School of Architecture of Genoa.

She has been a University of Brescia researcher in the field of 3D data management for two years, developing a 3D navigation interface and query data of the Cultural and Landscape Heritage of Lombardy Region.

She has been assistant professor at Milan University since 2006, joining projects in the buildings structural inspection and verification areas after the earthquake of Salò and L’Aquila.
