OMS vendor acquires Colo.-based GIS mapping firm

Data Collection and GIS Mapping become part of Cartegraph’s offerings

Cartegraph Systems, Inc., a provider of operations management system (OMS) technologies for transportation and water systems, said Wednesday it has acquired Mission Geographic, LLC (MGIS), a data collection and GIS mapping service, based in Monument, Colo.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Dubuque, Iowa-based Cartegraph said complementing its OMS offerings with 3D reality capture, GIS field mapping, asset inventories, condition assessments, and digital imagery, will help make the adoption of OMS technology an “efficient, full-service experience.”

MGIS has been renamed Cartegraph Data Services. Ken Huisman, founder and principal of MGIS, will lead the new enterprise from the same Colorado location.

“This expansion of services allows businesses and agencies to easily adopt OMS and quickly achieve [return on investment],” said Jake Schneider, Cartegraph chief marketing officer. “We’re delivering a customer experience that’s basically unmatched by anyone in our industry.”
