Lidar Services adds industry vet

LAS VEGAS – Lidar Services, based here and the wholly owned US subsidiary of Lidar Services International of Calgary, Alberta, announced this week the addition of Roland Mangold as sales and marketing coordinator to their growing US operations staff.

Mangold brings 20 years of sales, marketing, public relations, editorial and communications experience in the remote sensing, geospatial and lidar industries, having founded and published Earth Observation magazine for over a decade and organized the International Lidar Mapping Forum (ILMF) from 2005 to 2007. “We are very pleased with the addition of Roland to the Lidar Services team,” said Dan Phillips, CBO of Lidar Services, in a statement. “With his extensive knowledge of the lidar industry and its associated markets, this will allow Roland to hit the ground running and help expand our efforts to address the U.S. lidar market.”

Since opening the U.S. subsidiary on July 28 of 2011, Lidar Services has completed a number of NERC-related lidar and imagery surveys for U.S.-based electrical utility companies, the company reports, as well as wide-area mapping surveys deploying their aerial lidar mapping system.
