Brad Adams to market new Pegasus:One mobile mapper to geospatial firms

Leica Geosystems said Monday it hired Brad Adams, PE, as its mobile mapping manager for the NAFTA region.

Adams brings 25 years of experience in 3D engineering, mapping and information technology to the job, most recently serving as practice leader for civil works and transportation at Woolpert, Inc., a design, geospatial and infrastructure management firm, based in Dayton, Ohio.

In his new role, Adams will lead the implementation and strategic growth of Leica’s mobile mapping business, which includes the recently launched Leica Pegasus:One mobile mapping platform.

The Pegasus:One’s plug-and-play design and portability allows service providers to use their existing terrestrial scanners in profiler mode for mobile mapping. The product combines imagery and point cloud data in the same graphical user interface (GUI) with a fully integrated GIS workflow.

“Leica Geosystems is the recognized leader in laser scanning technology,” Adams said in a release. “The recent introduction of the Leica Pegasus:One mobile mapping platform, with its high-precision data capture and ability to use terrestrial scanners in a fully integrated mobile technology, is further evidence of the company’s focus on developing transformational solutions that expand opportunities and improve ROI for geospatial professionals.”

Headquartered in Heerbrugg, Switzerland, with a U.S. base in Norcross, Ga., Leica Geosystems is part of the Sweden-based Hexagon Group.
