Baker Corp. announces new 3D/GIS appointments

Michael Baker Jr., Inc., an engineering unit of the publicly traded Michael Baker Corporation, announced the following appointments within its Geospatial Information Technology (GIT) Service Area:

• Allen Wainger, P.E. – vice president, GIT Service Area. He is currently the department manager in the Alexandria, Va., office for GIT and is responsible for growing Baker GIT services in the federal market. Wainger is a geospatial information solutions (GIS) and information technology (IT) professional with more than 30 years of experience in applying GIS and IT to engineering and business applications. He manages large projects for federal, state and local governments in addition to commercial clients.

• Mick Barber – assistant vice president, GIT Department manager for the Beaver and Moon Township, Pa., offices. He leads regional operations and business development for GIS, photogrammetric mapping, aerial LiDAR, and 3D visualization groups in support of Baker-wide projects. Additionally, his department’s surveying group launched Baker’s business penetration of the Marcellus Shale and is expanding its regional service capacity. 

• Aaron J. Morris, GISP – assistant vice president, GIT Department manager for the Ridgeland, Miss., office. In this role, Morris will be responsible for management of the GIT group’s Ridgeland, Miss., Baton Rouge, La., and Houston, Texas, operations, as well as for leadership and oversight of Baker’s Mobile LiDAR initiative.

• Stephen Clancy – assistant vice president, is a registered surveyor for Florida business registration and assistant GIT Department manager for both Ridgeland, Miss., and Baton Rouge, La., locations. In this role, Clancy is responsible of Mobile LiDAR survey operations, project management and business development to support Baker’s ongoing LiDAR initiatives.
