Z+F to debut new scanner, software, interoperability at INTERGEO

NUREMBERG, Germany – As the INTERGEO prepares to open here, many 3D data capture manufacturers are announcing new products for the exhibition. Z+F has a number of new products and features to unveil, according to a recent company newsletter:

• Z+F Profiler 9000. According to company materials, this is a brand-new, high-end profiling laser scanner for mobile mapping applications, but technical details have not yet been posted to the web site. This has the potential to be one of the more talked about new releases at the show.

• New firmware for the Imager 5010. The biggest improvement the company is touting here is the ability to set up above a known point, allowing for more efficient scan registration. This coordinates with improvements to the company’s LaserControl 8.2 software, which will allow you to use the coordinate information from the known point to directly register scans within LaserControl Register. It will also now be possible for ortho photos to be created with a defined scale, and there are new tools for properly displaying things like glass facades or windows, which were previously difficult to colorize.

• Integration with Alice Labs point cloud processing software. Zfs files will now be able to import directly into Alice Labs without prior processing or transformation.
