January 21, 2015 — Celebrating the “International Year of Light” initiative adopted by the United Nations, we at Optech are pleased to invite you to the Optech Imaging & Lidar Solutions Conference on June 9-12, 2015 in downtown Toronto. This year is special, not just because of the great location in the middle of the best Toronto has to offer, but also because of the new Optech technology and systems that are taking the industry by storm. Save this date in your calendar today! You will not want to miss the free technical workshops, opportunities for networking, and insightful presentations given by scientists and mapping professionals from around the world. Registration and abstract submittal information is coming soon!

“The United Nations declared 2015 to be the International Year of Light and is promoting awareness of how optical technologies are improving people’s lives. Presentations at Optech ILSC 2015 will include the application of imaging and lidar for solutions to global challenges in energy, exploration, environmental monitoring and many other interesting applications,” said Elizabeth Carswell, VP of Sales. “We learned so much from the presentations at ILSC 2013, and this year we look forward to even greater variety, given the increased interest in collection efficiency, UAVs and lidar bathymetry in our industry.”

ILSC 2015 is a venue for remote sensing professionals to discuss the latest developments in the lidar and imagery industry, including new technologies, best practices and applications. The conference agenda will include technical sessions on driving the complexity and cost out of remote sensing, improving processing techniques for better data accuracy, exploiting new technologies to expand into fresh application spaces, and more. Attendance is open to anyone who wants to share their successful projects using Optech sensor systems, learn more about best practices, new trends, and efficiency-enhancing developments for airborne, mobile and terrestrial surveying, or simply network and build relationships with industry colleagues. Given the excellent location near major attractions, some may even wish to extend their visit over the weekend.

ILSC provides the ideal environment for learning and exchanging ideas that will help with future projects, and this year’s presentations will show surveyors how to take advantage of recent developments such as the Titan multispectral lidar system, UAVs, new data processing algorithms in LMS, and Galaxy’s PulseTRAK™ technology for seamlessly solving the multipulse challenge throughout the entire operating envelope. Optech is already lining up fascinating keynote speakers, so stay tuned for further announcements.
