Velodyne Lidar expands reseller network to Japan

MORGAN HILL, Calif. – Velodyne Lidar, Inc., announced this week it has signed an agreement with Argo Corporation to serve as Velodyne’s exclusive reseller of HDL-64E and HDL-32E high definition 3-D lidar sensors in Japan.

Velodyne’s lidar sensors are primarily designed for vision systems that are integrated into robots and unmanned vehicles, markets served by Argo. Argo will be the exclusive channel for distributing Velodyne’s lidar sensor in Japan, and brings its own unique expertise and strategic regional strengths.

“Japan is a region with some of the leading robotics and autonomous vehicle companies in the world. Velodyne has established some business in Japan on a direct basis and looks forward to dramatically expanding that business with Argo’s involvement. We have chosen them for their ability to effectively market Velodyne HDL LiDAR products and we look forward to a successful and strategic long term relationship,” Said Brent Schwarz, VP of Velodyne Lidar, in a statement.
