Cooperation and partnerships in the commercial 3D tech space are no longer the exception, but the rule. Add one more item to the growing list of partnerships announced at INTERGEO 2017: DotProduct and Arithmetica are working together to put Pointfuse on DotProduct’s line of handheld 3D scanners.
Pointfuse for DP will make the Pointfuse 3D modeling engine directly accessible through the Dot3D software. After scanning a scene, users can open Pointfuse and quickly convert the point clouds into accurate, usable geometry for third-party CAD software.
The engine includes features added in the latest version of the software, such as the ability to select objects in a scene and isolate them as an independent layer for output.
