Leica Geosystems Announces Training Event for High-Def Surveyors

HDS-University

Today, Leica Geosystems released the details of a three-day training event for professionals to improve their laser-scanning and high-definition survey skills. The event, called HDS University, will be held in Georgia, not far from Leica’s headquarters.

HDS University will offer courses in topics such as field and office workflows for laser scanning, immediate registration techniques, and using groups in registration. The company will also offer application-specific courses for software like using CloudWorx for AutoCAD with Civil3D, and Cyclone tips and tricks.

In cooperation with the University of Arkansas, Leica will offer continuing education credits for a majority of courses.

Michael Harvey, HDS product applications manager at Leica explained that “demand for expertise in specific areas of laser scanning is so high that we’ve had to expand our course offering at our annual HxGN LIVE conference over the last several years, and many classes still fill up early.”

“Bringing HDS University to Norcross in October,” he continued, “is another way for us to support the industry and advance best practices in laser scanning.”
