Leica expands presence in North Carolina

NORCROSS, Ga. – Leica Geosystems announced this week that, in response to increasing demand for comprehensive surveying solutions in North Carolina, the company has appointed Dean Howell as direct sales representative to the state, and established a dealer relationship with Transit and Level Clinic. According to a statement, these new relationships will improve service and support for surveyors, contractors, engineers, and other measurement specialists in North Carolina, and shorten delivery time for new and repaired equipment. “North Carolina is a progressive state, and we’re happy to see the demand for our most sophisticated surveying solutions increasing so rapidly,” said Leica Geosystems general manager Craig Martin, in a release. “It’s time for us to strengthen our presence in the Tar Heel State, and Dean and TLC are going to do a great job for us.”

Howell has 20 years experience in land surveying and became a Registered Professional Land Surveyor in North Carolina. In 2001, Howell began working with a local equipment dealer, and developed expertise in sales, technical support, and training.

“Like most professions, surveying and engineering are affected by today’s rapidly changing technology,” Howell said in a statement, “The use of robotics, GPS, and laser scanning can all be a little overwhelming. I always think about the customers who need this technology and their need to be more productive. I’m really happy to be representing Leica Geosystems —no other manufacturer is providing cutting edge technology that works so reliably. I’m excited about the combination of North Carolina’s excellent surveyors and Leica Geosystems’ world class equipment!”

To expand and improve product service and support, Leica Geosystems has also established a relationship with Transit and Level Clinic, a full-service equipment dealer with three offices, two of which are in North Carolina. TLC has been in business calibrating and repairing survey equipment since 1981. The business is family-owned and is headquartered in Cary, with a branch office in Charlotte.
