FARO to Distribute BitWyse Product

Bernd Becker, Director of Marketing & Product Management, FARO Technologies, Inc., Lake Mary, FL, informs us that his company has concluded a deal with BitWyse Solutions, Inc., Salem, MA, to provide BitWyse software bundled with FARO laser scanners. Under the terms of the agreement, FARO will sell initial one-year term subscriptions to BitWyse products; BitWyse will provide training, support and follow-on subscription sales. Becker says FARO will continue to provide its point cloud registration and filtering software FAROScene bundled with its scanners. According to Becker, the benefits to FARO customers of a bundled FARO/BitWyse solution include the integration of BitWyse software with software from Autodesk, AVEVA, Bentley and Intergraph. FARO Cloud currently provides some interoperability with AutoCAD and MicroStation; however, BitWyse’s LASERGen provides additional clash detection and pipe recognition functionality. The deal ought to help FARO achieve its goals of penetrating the process and power markets. BitWyse will no doubt benefit from having FARO’s worldwide sales and marketing team promoting its products.
