Last week when I visited Bruce Hall and Mike Dunbar at Velodyne headquarters in Morgan Hill, California, they told me this was about to pop. Yesterday the new Radiohead video “House of Cards” premiered on Google.If your company lets you, check out the youtube video with more details about how the Velodyne scanner and a structured light scanner from Boston-based Geometric Informatics were used to create the video. Mandli Communications scanned my driveway and street with a Velodyne scanner last winter just before the SPAR 2008 conference. Some of you will recall seeing the Mandli van at the SPAR 2008 conference in Houston. Geometric Informatics wowed us all at SIGGRAPH 2006 in Boston two years ago with their face scanner.
