Dr. Phil Manning to Keynote at 9th Annual Conference

March 5, 2012 (Portland, Maine, USA) – Dr. Phil Manning, Head of Palaeontology Research Group, University of Manchester (UK), will deliver a keynote address at SPAR International, the Conference on End-to-End 3D, taking place April 15-18 2012 in The Woodlands (Houston), Texas.  In his presentation “Dinosaurs, Space Shuttles, Synchrotrons,” Dr. Manning will share secrets that applications of 3D imaging are unlocking from the distant past. “Dr. Manning’s 3D work is fascinating,” said Linda McLaughlin, Conference Manager of SPAR 3D. “His research has the potential to have global impact on disciplines way beyond palaeontology.” Dr. Manning’s work has been covered by Science, Nature, The New York Times, NPR and the BBC.

More than 80 additional 3D experts will share best practices in breakout sessions in 5 tracks—industrial facilities; civil transportation and building; security planning and law enforcement; digital preservation of historic assets; and new technologies. “Our line-up of presenters is top-notch,” said McLaughlin. “These professionals are sharing real cutting-edge work.”

McLaughlin said that presentation bios and abstracts have been posted on the SPAR International website. They can be accessed from the presenters list and the conference schedule. She shared a small sampling of presenters:
