On Nov. 10, Riegl USA Inc. introduced the VQ-480 for airborne surveying and mapping. As part of the company’s V-Line, the VQ-480 is said to provide “high-speed non-contact data acquisition using a narrow infrared laser beam and a fast line scanning mechanism” underscored by Riegl’s echo digitization and real-time online waveform analysis.
The news release further stated that “[t]he multiple target capacity of the VQ-480 results in more returns which ultimately yields a more complete analysis.”
The VQ-480 was designed to capture 3D data of large areas, such as agricultural or forestry sites, urban areas and industrial plants.
