Trimble is at Intergeo 2017 with a wide range of new products, but it may be two software updates that get most of the coverage.

Clarity: Point Cloud Sharing

The first is Clarity, a new cloud-based point cloud sharing application on the Connect platform. Clarity enables 3D professionals to view and share 3D spatial scenes. It includes functionality for 3D measurement, annotation, and collaboration. Trimble says the platform will reduce file transfer time significantly and offer teams a single source of data for making informed decisions.

Trimble Clarity is available now.

eCognition 9.3: Google deep learning for geospatial analysis

The second software announcement is new version of the eCognition solution for geospatial analysis in infrastructure, environmental, agricultural, and forestry applications.

The big change is the addition of deep learning tech and geospatial point cloud analytics. The software integrates deep learning technology from the Google Tensorflow library, which provides fast and accurate results for tasks that require pattern recognition and correlation, like the classification of objects.

On top of that, users of version 9.3 will be able to integrate aerial and terrestrial point clouds, and then perform classification tasks, information extraction, and change analysis over time.

The software is expected during the last quarter of 2017.
