February 4, 2013 (Portland, Maine) – Michael T. Jones, Chief Technology Advocate at Google, will deliver a keynote address at the 10th Annual SPAR International Conference on End-to-End 3D entitled “A World of Measurement.” The presentation will look at our future as a recorded society, when everything is measured and big data is applied to the world around us. Before its acquisition by Google, Michael was CTO of Keyhole Corporation, the company that developed the technology used today in Google Earth. SPAR International takes place April 15-18, 2013 at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
“We’re moving into a world of autonomous vehicles and new ways of information-gathering and dissemination such as crowdsourcing and mapping by individuals,” said Lisa Murray, Director of SPAR International. “Michael is at the forefront of these changes and will provide a fascinating and important glimpse into what’s ahead not only for our industries but for us as a society.”
As Google’s Chief Technology Advocate, Michael is charged with advancing the technology to organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful. He previously was Chief Technologist of Google Maps, Earth, and Local Search- the teams responsible for providing location intelligence and information in global context to users worldwide.
