CH2M HILL Division Becomes CRITIGEN

Employee-owned CH2M HILL announced the sale of the IT solutions division of its Enterprise Management Solutions (EMS) business to Critigen, a global technology consultancy leader in information management for critical infrastructure. The move supports CH2M HILL’s strategy to serve engineering, procurement, construction, management and operations for government, civil, industrial and energy clients with expanded IT solutions from Critigen. The move essentially opens up the entire geospatial industry (laser scanning, GIS, surveying and aerial clients of all sizes) to the newly expanded company in terms of being able to provide geospatial data on a global scale.

“This transition represents an important milestone for our customers and partners,” says Ken Hill, vice president, Critigen. “While retaining the deep domain experience gained through our legacy as a divested company of CH2M HILL, Critigen now gains agility and a focus on the convergence of technology application and mission-critical data. From a delivery capacity standpoint, it really has no affect. The transition really represents a milestone to adding a nimbleness in terms of how we adapt to technology and train people on technology, especially in the area of scanning.”

Scanning falls under Critigen’s Visualize capability, one of four business focus areas. The company also applies technology to allow its clients to collaborate, secure and manage their information.
