GNSS reflectometry for helping farmers with water

Researchers at the University of Canterbury are developing an AI-powered soil moisture monitoring platform that uses GNSS reflectometry to give farmers accurate, near real-time field-scale data on how much water is in their soil. The ANZ Soil Moisture Data Assimilation System combines ground sensors, satellite signals, and advanced modelling to fill a critical gap in agricultural decision-making, with a publicly accessible platform the ultimate goal.
