Albuquerque Police Department Preserves Crime Scenes with 3D Laser Scanning

The Albuquerque Police Department is in the vanguard of metropolitan police departments using 3D laser scanning technology to preserve crimes scenes. Watch coverage of the APD’s technology in action.

Albuquerque Police Chief Raymond D. Schultz will open FSM 2008, March 4-6, Houston, TX, with an overview of some of his department’s investigations and challenges utilizing its 3D laser scanners.

FSM 2008 is a conference on forensic and security metrology co-located with SPAR 2008. Larry Sonntag, president of the International Association of Forensic & Security Metrology (IAFSM) and Captain (Retired), Albuquerque Police Department, will speak at both events. Most FSM 2008 sessions are open to SPAR 2008 attendees at no additional charge (some sessions are restricted to law enforcement attendees only). SPAR 2008 sessions are likewise open to FSM 2008 attendees at no additional charge.
