According to the European Association of Aerial Surveying Industries (EAASI), the recently concluded EAASI Summit 2025 was the “most successful edition since the Association's creation in 2019.”
Held in Dubrovnik, Croatia from November 18-21, the Summit brought together 106 participants from the crewed aerial surveying community. Attendees hailed from 63 organizations and 24 different countries.

In a statement, EAASI stated that the Summit “delivered a comprehensive agenda featuring high-level speakers from national mapping agencies, industry leaders, and academic institutions” The event featured a keynote presentation by Tomaž Petek, President of EuroGeographics and General Manager of the Surveying and Mapping Authority of Slovenia, who discussed “European geospatial collaboration and the evolving role of national mapping authorities.”
In addition, Fabio Remondino, Head of the 3DOM unit at Fondazione Bruno Kessler (FBK), explored “emerging trends and research shaping the future of photogrammetry and aerial mapping” during his presentation, "How AI is Reshaping the Aerial Mapping Sector," and Marijan Marjanović, Head of Sector at the State Geodetic Administration of Croatia, presented an “overview of current and future cartographic projects in Croatia.”
Other highlights of EAASI 2025 include the panel discussions on public–private and association partnerships in Europe, responses to GPS jamming and spoofing, and sustainable aviation practices, and a showcase of the work of the Outstanding Thesis Award winner, Dr. Weixiao Gao.
