3D scans are beautiful, but they can also be unsettling. Recently, as the technology has become more widespread, a lot of artists have begun using LiDAR for the particular aesthetic it has. But I’ve never seen someone use it to film a full documentary before.
Ghost Cell’s creator, Antoine Delach, describes his documentary film as “a stereoscopic plunge into the guts of an organic Paris seen as a cell through a virtual microscope.” I’m not sure what that means, but the results are…distinctive.
