SPAR Europe, Day .5

Conferences ain’t easy. Organizing people into sophisticated social patterns takes a lot of work. I’m glad I don’t have to do it. I just show up and tell everyone else what happened. Such as now.

The weather hasn’t helped. It’s so foggy you can hardly find your way down the sidewalk, let alone avoid the bicyclists and park in the appropriate spot – or walk from your nearby hotel.

As in:

Still, SPAR Europe is already rolling. Today, exhibitors began installing their stands, and we had an entry-level tutorial for those who need to get up to speed on the technolgoy of laser scanning and 3D imaging in general. The presenters did well in providing the crowed with pretty pictures and exhibiting the ROI that makes the technology worthwhile.

Here’s Doug Pritchard extrapolating on Scotland’s commitment to cultural preservation:

Still, it’s true that most of us flew in from the East Coast of the U.S. (we’re based in a little state called Maine) and were relying on this here to keep us sharp:

Regardless, registration and load in have begun in earnest and we’re eager to get the conference running and providing people with the information and ideas they need to move their businesses forward. We have to live up to this wonderful billing, after all:
